A scientific-research Institute “Almatygenplan” was created in Almaty 30 october 2017 Research Institute “Almatengplan” was created by the resolution of the city’s executive committee. The agency was established on the basis of LLP “Apararattyk – tekhnologya ortalyk” with 100% state participation in the authorized capital. The main goal of Almatygenplan is the realization of the approved megapolis master plan, taking into account the development of the suburbs, as well as the formation of general principles of urban policy in the city. The Research Institute will carry out design, design and experimental, regulatory and methodological work on urban planning and development of the city of Almaty, the suburban area and other settlements, taking into account the international experience. The new organization will act as the single coordinator of all design works from the development of town-planning units, the integral appearance of the facade solutions of the existing building, the pedestrian zones in the whole city, the development of a master plan, the detailed planning projects. Recall that in September this year, during a meeting on socio-economic development of the southern capital, the President raised the issue of the expediency of restoring the institution responsible for the development of the city’s master plan, taking into account the population growth and the constant expansion of its territory.
