On October 7, 2016 E. Idrisov and B. Johnson have held a meeting of the Kazakhstan-British strategic dialogue in London
Within the two-day working trip to London which has begun on October 6, 2016 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrisov in common with the British colleague Boris Johnson has held a meeting of the Kazakhstan-British strategic dialogue and participated in the presentation of the project of the national pavilion of Great Britain at the forthcoming exhibition “EXPO-2017”.
At Foring-minister E. Idrisov and B. Johnson have discussed the main aspects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom in bilateral and multilateral formats at a meeting, and also exchanged opinions on topical issues of the international agenda, including in the context of election of Kazakhstan in non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for 2017-2018. Among the touched subjects there were a situation in Syria and Afghanistan, questions of implementation of the Minsk agreements on settlement of a situation in Ukraine, counteraction to terrorism, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, regional cooperation in Central Asia and other subjects.
During negotiations the heads of Foreign Ministries noted high dynamic development of economic and political interaction of two countries and emphasized the growing level of strategic partnership between Astana and London. A recent meeting of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev with the Prime minister of Great Britain Theresa May within the summit of “Group of Twenty” in Hangzhou (People’s Republic of China) became confirmation of it. Diplomats have also discussed the course of implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to London in November, 2015.
Following the results of negotiations, ministers of two countries adopted the joint statement in which they confirmed an intention to keep in touch in development of the relations in all directions of bilateral cooperation at the high level and interests.
On the same day E. Idrisov participated in the presentation of the project of the British national pavilion at the EXPO-2017 exhibition in Astana. At an action at the ministry of international trade of Great Britain there were representatives of Forin-office, heads about 20 British companies which have expressed their interests in participation in an exhibition, mass media. The project of the pavilion was submitted by Ch. Hendri, a Commissioner of Great Britain on “EXPO-2017” and by the famous British architect A. Khan.
In general the opinion of participants of the presentation the pavilion of the United Kingdom is promising to become one of the most interesting at the forthcoming exhibition in the capital of Kazakhstan and will promote an exchange of advanced technologies and perspective scientific developments in the field of use of renewables.
