Telegram-bot on questions COVID-19 developed in more accelerated and functional mode

The team of developers of RK MH NHC   in cooperation with the state office of the World Health Organization (WHO) has previously launched a telegram-bot on a new coronavirus infection. Since then, the work of the bot has been significantly improved. The telegram-bot on COVID-19 was launched shortly before the introduction of the emergency regime in the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty, as well as in other areas, with the aim of establishing an accelerated, verified communication, based on the expertise of the staff, the press service of the National Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

The number of subscribers (25 000+)increasing each day, as well as the wide range of structures of the questions asked by users, demonstrated the need to scale the functionality of the new communication channel.

After the technical renovation, the bot learned to answer the known questions from the knowledge base about the coronavirus. If earlier, out of 100 most relevant questions the user had to go to the section and look for the most necessary question, then now enough to type the text, and the bot will generate the answer. In connection with the speed of obtaining information has increased exponentially.

In case, if the bot does not know the answer, it switches the user to the operator. The uniqueness of the work of the updated bot, reinforced with the capabilities of artificial intelligence, is reflected in the fact that it is perfected in the course of dialogues with users and become smarter. This allows the system to give more specific and sharp answers, which with greater probability correspond to the request of the user. It is important to note that each time the bot becomes flexible, it can be re-trained and guided, equipped with new competencies.

Damir Kobzhasarov, Director of the RK MH NHC, believes that the pandemic and quarantine will end, and the questions on which the bot can be useful to the citizens of the RK, most likely, will remain for some time. A dynamic and flexible communication channel is an investment in a long-term tool, able to develop and provide competent feedback on topical issues of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan as a whole.
