The play “Uncle Vanya”
Academic Theater. Lensoveta (Russia, St. Petersburg)
within the framework of the II World Theater Festival “Astana”
June 24, 2018 at 19.00 clock at the Palace of Peace and Harmony Academic Theater named after Lensovet (St. Petersburg, Russia) will show his famous play “Uncle Vanya”, who received the Russian National Theater Award “Golden Mask”.
The play “Uncle Vanya” staged by Yuri Butusov is magnificent, the director seems to once again try to comprehend the eternal theme of man’s search for self-realization and happiness. The world of Chekhov, created on stage, literally faces our today’s vain daily routine. With this stage technique, the director combines the forms of traditional and modern theater. This is a live performance, whose characters, trying to understand themselves, show us the complete absurdity of human problems.
The play, according to the director’s plan, is staged in classical aesthetics, but in a non-classical interpretation. Deep and accurate director’s interpretation, a powerful cast of actors, stylish design make the performance a bright, psychologically thin and spectacular spectacle.
Professional theater experts and critics will attend the performance: Asanali Ashimov (Kazakhstan), Jonas Vaitkus (Lithuania), David Asatiani (France), Beatrice Picon-Wallen (France), David Papava (Great Britain).
