DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER ALTAI KULGINOV AND MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION SAYASAT NURBEK VISITED ALMATY

During a working trip to Almaty, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Kulginov and Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek met with rectors of universities and investors at the project office for the construction of dormitories.
In early March, the official opening of the project office took place in the southern capital and an updated mechanism was presented that provides for subsidies for the construction of new dormitories. To date, over 70 investors have applied to the project office.
The participants of the meeting discussed the progress of the construction of dormitories and problematic issues. In particular, it was proposed to introduce subsidies for dormitories with a small number of beds, reducing the threshold from 100 to 50, and to increase the amount of state support for the reconstruction of buildings for dormitories from 92 MCI to 230 MCI.
It should be noted that within the framework of the Almaty City Development Program until 2025, it is planned to build dormitories for 12,000 beds, and until 2030 for another 20,000 beds.
Further, the delegation visited “Gylym Ordasy” and got acquainted with the course of the overhaul of the organization. From the end of April this year, at the expense of the local budget of the city of Almaty, a major overhaul of the building of the Republican State Enterprise “Gylym Ordasy” will be carried out.
Also, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister got acquainted with the scientific and technical infrastructure of KazNU named after al-Farabi. At the university, the guests first visited the Research Center for Medicinal Plants of KazNU and got acquainted with the equipment for the development of drugs. Currently, biologically active additives against coronavirus infection are being produced at the plant, which protect against influenza, liver diseases and increase immunity.
Altai Kulginov was given full information about the Al-Farabi-1 and Al-Farabi-2 nanosatellites, manufactured at the KazNU Process Innovation Center. He was also introduced with the work of the Earth Remote Sensing Center, the innovative ALFASAT constructor for the development of space robotics and the STEM education system in educational institutions was presented.
At the end of the working visit, the guests visited th Al-Farabie scientific library, where they first got acquainted with the Al-Farabi Museum and visited the exhibition of scientific and innovative projects of KazNU and the achievements of the faculties.
