Zhetysu is ready to harvest winter crops
In the Almaty region this year, fodder lands increased by 7.1 thousand hectares compared to last year and amounted to 257.9 thousand hectares. This year, it is planned to procure 3.5 million tons of coarse (hay, straw), 1.3 million tons of succulent (haylage, silage) fodder from feed, as well as 684 thousand tons of grain forage. To date, the first mowing of perennial crops has been completed, 418.1 thousand tons of hay have been harvested, including 285.2 thousand tons of alfalfa, and 26.6 thousand tons of haylage, – the press service of the akim of Almaty region reports.
According to the regional Department of Agriculture, currently 265 grain warehouses with a capacity of 771 thousand tons are ready to receive grain in the region, including 2 licensed grain-receiving enterprises with a capacity of 58.6 thousand tons. At the same time, the harvesting area of winter grain crops in comparison with last year increased by 2.5 thousand hectares and amounted to 105.9 thousand hectares.
The campaign to collect these crops is scheduled to begin on 10 July. In the harvesting of winter and fodder crops in the region, 1468 combines, 180 mechtok, 263 grain loaders, 203 grain throwers, 164 grain cleaning machines, 256 truck scales will be involved.
