For the first time in Kazakhstan, an anthology of legends about the sacred places of the East Kazakhstan region was published.

In Ust-Kamenogorsk, the presentation of the electronic book “Legends and legends of East Kazakhstan” was held. The book is an anthology of stories about 15 sacred places of the region. The authors are Alibek Kantarbayev, Marina Yurchenko, Kulmai Sembaeva.
As the head of the department of tourism and external relations of the East Kazakhstan region Zhasulan Sarsebayev noted, in the framework of the program “Rukhani zharyrou” first of all it is necessary to change the outlook of the younger generation through the propaganda of historical, sacred objects, with which you can lay the foundation of patriotism and love for your native land.
The idea of creating a book on the legends and legends of the region on the basis of historical and literary data and the results of archaeological research appeared last year. The book includes 15 sacred places of the East Kazakhstan region: the Irtysh River, the Kiin-Kirish tract, the Markakol Lake, the Rakhmanovskoe Lake, the Belukha Mountain, the Konyr-Aulie Mountains, the Holy Key, the Yyrgyzbayta Mausoleum, the Berel Mounds, the Shilikty Necropolis, the Enlik-Kebek Mausoleum, Korpesh and Bayan Sulu, Kushikbai, Ablaykit fortress, Ak-Baur.
According to Zhasulan Sarsebayev, when creating the book, they focused more on local authors, since it is East Kazakhstan that is the birthplace of Kazakh classical literature, to Abai and Shakarim.
– There are a lot of folk art, literary sources, old books in libraries, but they are scattered and not accessible to a large number of readers. We saw our task not only in literary processing, but also in the fact that it was an accessible format for a modern child, “said Svetlana Beisembayeva, executive director of the publishing and printing company Arteks.
The book has its heroes: a boy named Sanjar, who goes on a trip to Eastern Kazakhstan with his grandfather. The old man, whose beard stretches from the depths of the centuries, in this composition symbolizes the connection between the past and the present, and as an experienced mentor, he conveys the wisdom that he had learned in his life. Travel heroes are displayed on the map, which is present at the beginning of the book. It should be noted that each legend is accompanied by pictures of children-winners of the drawing contest of the regional center “Daryn”, children’s art school of Ust-Kamenogorsk and the Palace of Creativity of schoolchildren. It is impossible not to pay attention to the cover of the book: the ornaments with which it is decorated are created on the motives of artifacts found in the Berelsk mounds.
In addition, the book contains various proverbs of peoples living in the region.
“Apart from the fact that each legend has a small inset that links one legend to another, there is also a moral, explaining that this is not just an interesting place worth visiting, but also something that it can teach. She calls for different feelings: courage, pride for her country, interest in learning new things, says Svetlana Beisembaeva.
This book can be freely accessed on the site toureast.kz.
It is also planned to add to the collection of legends and legends about new places in the future.
– We gave a small portion of those places that are in East Kazakhstan – these are the main 15 sacred places that everyone has on their lips. But this is only the beginning of the project. We will replenish the collection of legends, – says Zhasulan Sarsebayev.
