In Almaty within the framework of “Ruhani zhayyru” a children’s inclusive playground was opened
In Almaty, in the Park of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was opened an inclusive site, adapted for children of different ages and opportunities. Funds for the equipment of the children’s complex and its installation were collected during a charity auction in December 2016, thanks to the private sponsors of the city and the DARA foundation.
“As far as we are able, we will continue to open such areas that will be accessible to all children, both in Almaty and in other cities. We want to work with our domestic equipment suppliers for such complexes, so I think that there will be more inclusive free barrier-free playing places in Almaty in the future, “commented Ainash Kasenova, director of the Dara Foundation in Almaty.
In the barrier-free play area of 480 sq.m. there are a number of developing elements: a gaming complex with slides and wide ramps, a child adapted roundabout and sandbox, musical components, fitness simulators, etc. Simulators and game elements allow you to train the vestibular and hearing aids, improve coordination of movement and tactile sensations. The information panels show children the tactile Braille font, sign language and PEKS cards, allow children from childhood to accept and understand the different ways of communicating their peers and their possible needs.
“I am proud that during the charity we collected a record high sum that allowed this project to come true. About 20 million tenge was spent on this complex, “said the sponsor of the project, Zhanna Kan.
Note that in the megalopolis within the framework of the social project “Sport in my yard” 75 sports grounds have been rehabilitated, 5,5 thousand children and adolescents, as well as 28 sports facilities for the vorouts, provide leisure time. In each district of the city this winter there will be free ice rinks for mass skating.
According to the Education Department, today there are 4 psycho-medical-pedagogical consultations (PMPK) and 7 offices of psychological-pedagogical correction (KPAC) in Almaty. Until the end of the year, it is planned to open PMPK and KPPK in Nauryzbaysky district.
