In this year, it is planned to repair 250 thousand m2 of road surface with a pit repair, to supply and repair 97 thousand m2 sidewalks and 130 bus stop areas. 7 billion tenge was alloted from the local budget for road-repair including 1 billion tenge for current repair, 500 million tenge for sidewalk’s repair and the stopping points, and 5.5 billion tenge for medium repairs.
Nowadays four contract organizations with 20 brigades are working for the riddance of identified defects on the city’s roads. As it has been reported in the department of passenger transport and highways in Almaty, 31.27 km of 12 highways and 23 streets of regional importance have been repaired. 30.75 km of 19 streets are for a medium repair and a competition has been declared.
In near future, Baytursynov street’s capital repair will begin from Timiryazev street to Abay Ave. In addition to it, bike path’s arrangement will be organized within the framework of the “Persistent Transport of the Almaty city‘’program planned by the urban bicycle and the pedestrian infrastructure planning.
A huge repair is being done on Zhandosov street from Sain street to the Tausamaly village with a length of 2.08 km. The project supplies the enlarging of a roadway to 4 lanes, the bridge reconstruction across the river “Kargaly”, the arrangement of bicycle paths for 2 km and sidewalks for 4 km.
It should be mentioned that this year it is also planned to build 14.7 km of irrigation networks for 574 millions tenge and a reconstruction of irrigation networks in 57 streets for 42.2 km. In addition to it, a requisition was received from the city’s district executive committee for the elaboration of the new irrigation network’s construction and the storm drains along 488 streets almost for 500 km.
