More than 1,000 Taldykorgan people and visitors of the city in honor of the Great Victory Day took part in the memorable procession “Immortal Regiment”, passing a solemn march along Tauelsyzdyk street from the central square to the park of culture and recreation “Zhastar”, the press service of the akim of Almaty region reports.

In Taldykorgan, the celebration of May 9 started with a solemn ceremony of laying flowers to the Obelisk of Glory. The main events unfolded in the park “Zhastar”, starting with a colorful theatrical performance “The Great Victory – forever in the people’s memory”, narrating about the history of the Great Patriotic War from its very beginning to the victorious May day. A bright point of the show was the procession of the “Immortal Regiment”, in which over 1000 Taldykorgan people and city guests took part, from the early morning they passed a solemn march through the central streets of the city.

Then, the first deputy akim of Almaty region Lazzat Turlashov addressed the residents and guests of the city with a congratulatory speech.

Dear veterans, workers of the rear, dear compatriots! For all of us, Victory Day is one of the most revered and noble holidays, uniting all generations. This is the day of military glory, labor valor, unity and solidarity of the people, who defended our freedom, independence and peaceful future. We are sincerely proud of your feat, the greatness of which becomes brighter with the years. Your courage, heroism and selfless love of the Motherland are a vivid example, strong support and stimulus, and daily care for you is our sacred duty. We will always remember the price at which victory was won, striving to preserve and multiply peaceful achievements, educating young people in the spirit of patriotism and respect for the heroic past of fathers and grandfathers. A festive concert with the participation of the creative teams of the region and the star of the Kazakh stage Alibek Dnishev continued the event. All favorite songs about the Great Victory, unity, friendship and love for the Motherland complemented the holiday atmosphere. Traditionally, as a treat, the veterans tried the soldier’s porridge, cooked on the “field kitchen” unfolded in honor of the holiday.
