In the Almaty region opened the memorial complex “Uly Zhebe” in honor of the Day of the First President and the 375th anniversary of the Battle of Orbulak

Today, in honor of the Day of the First President and the 375th anniversary of the Orbulak battle, the opening of the memorial complex “Uly Zhebe” took place in the town of Zharkent of the Panfilovsky district of the Almaty region. Akim of the region Amandyk Batalov, a deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament, a public figure Kuanysh Sultanov, scientists, historians, writers, the community of the district took part in the solemn event, – the press service of the mayor of Almaty region reports.

Akim of the region Amandyk Batalov addressed the audience with a welcoming speech:

– The Orbulak battle is one of the most important historical events on the way to the freedom of the Kazakh people. It is not for nothing that Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev notes: “The historically significant victories of Anirakai and Orbulak are waving under the flag of Independence and Freedom.” the present and the future of our people. The history of Orbulak is one of the pages of the history of the Great Steppe, ”said A. Batalov and noted that since 1993 comprehensive measures have been taken to study and promote this event, and the opening of the Uly Zhebe memorial is a fundamental result of this great work.

Continuing his speech, the head of the region, on behalf of the residents of the region, thanked the authors of the memorial, Gaziz Yeshkenov, Aydar Zhamkhan, Aydin Zhaylaubaev, handing in certificates of appreciation and letters of thanks.

Then the deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament Kuanysh Sultanov, a writer, laureate of the State Prize, literary prize “Alash” Beksultan Nurzhekeev, spoke on behalf of the youth, Ernar Yergali expressed words of wishes. The opening of the memorial complex ended with a traditional shashu.

Then a scientific-practical conference was held in the district house of culture. Presentations were made by such scholars and historians as Talas Omarbekov, Bereket Karibayev, Nabizhan Mukhamethanuly, who spoke about the features of the military strategy of the Orbulak battle, as well as about the heroes who participated in it.

I must say that the memorial complex “Uly Zhebe” is made of white marble, granite and bronze. The project cost is more than 278.6 million tenge. The contracting organization carrying out construction is Kagan Engineering LLP. The authors of the memorial complex are members of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan Gaziz Eshkenov and Aydar Zhamkhan, the sculptor-architect Aydin Zhaylaubaev. The memorial complex includes a bas-relief depicting batyrs and a stele directed upwards. The height of the stele is 16 meters, the height of the bas-relief is 6.5 meters, the width is 26 meters.
