The State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abay hosted the XVth Congress of Writers of Kazakhstan. Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Mukhameduly, members, founders of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, special guests, representatives of the mass media of Almaty and Astana were invited to the meeting.
The Union of Writers is one of the first and largest creative unions of the country. Members of the Union made a huge contribution to the development of the cultural life of the country and the strengthening of moral and spiritual values in the education of youth.
The Congress was opened by the chairman of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan.
The new chairman of the board of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan was declared by a control and revision commission and was approved by the council of elders.
The Chairman of the Board of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan was elected Ulugbek Esdaulet, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
