Participation in a ceremony of a celebration of champions and prize-winners of the XXXI summer Olympic Games

Opening a ceremony, the Head of state has congratulated all Kazakhstan citizens on a successful performance of national team at the XXXI summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The Olympic medals, high sports results and achievements of our athletes are a worthy gift to the forthcoming 25 anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan. You have equaled hopes not only the trainers and fans, but also all Kazakhstan citizens, having confirmed a high level of the international sports glory of our country, – Nursultan Nazarbayev has told.
The president of Kazakhstan has noted that at the ended summer Olympic Games our national team has won 17 medals of different advantage.
– It is more, than ever at other Olympic Games for all history of participation of Kazakhstan in the world Olympic Movement. In an informal medal count our Olympic team on the 22nd place among teams of 207 countries of the world. All of us are proud of the fact that over the Olympic scaffolds in Rio the anthem sounded three times and the colors of our country were hoisted. It has celebrated victories of Olympic champions – the boxer Daniar Eleusinov, for the first time in our history of the swimmer Dmitry Balandin, the weight-lifter Nizhat Rakhimov. The huge contribution to the general moneybox of the Olympic success was made by 5 silver and 9 bronze medallists, – the Head of state has told.
Also Nursultan Nazarbayev has thanked trainer’s staff of the national team, a family of Olympians and all Kazakhstan fans for support, and athletes – for the shown will to fair competition and the Olympic glory.
The president of Kazakhstan has emphasized that progress of the national team inspires athletes – Paralympians at the upcoming XV summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and has wished them good luck and good results.
The head of state has noted that 25 years of the Kazakhstan participation in the world Olympic Movement are celebrated by many bright victories of our athletes.
– The Olympic treasury of Kazakhstan taking into account the awards won by Kazakhstan citizens at the Olympic Games of 2016 contains already 69 medals. At our country of 19 Olympic champions, 22 silver and 28 bronze medallists of the summer and winter Olympic Games, since 1992. These high achievements – result of continuous care of the state and creation of conditions for development of sport, – Nursultan Nazarbayev has told.
In conclusion the President of Kazakhstan has congratulated all Kazakhstan citizens on the reached victories again, having wished new success on a world sports Olympus.
In turn, the winners who have acted during the action, prize-winners and participants of the Olympic Games have thanked the Head of state for continued support and attention to questions of development of sport and physical culture in the country.
During the ceremony Nursultan Nazarbayev has also handed to champions and prize-winners of the Olympic Games the state awards.
