“Turkey’s experience in developing entrepreneurship and industry is very progressive. Small and medium business, tourism, infrastructure and agro-industrial sectors, and light industry are very well developed in the country. Kazakhstan also has great potential for development in these industries. It is important for us to study advanced international practices and apply the most effective tools to stimulate the development of entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan,” said Maksat Kikimov, First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NCE, during the meeting.
Representatives of NCE Atameken visited the head offices of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Turkish SME Support Agency KOSGEB in Ankara to study international experience and establish cooperation.
When getting acquainted with the features of TOBB’s activities, the participants of the Kazakh delegation were especially interested in issues of interaction with the state, development of small and medium-sized businesses, human capital, basic industries and the financial sector, as well as industry and regional development.
“TOBB unites 365 local chambers and commodity exchanges, 65 industry assemblies, and has 1.5 million members – companies and entrepreneurs. The Union has extensive experience in the development of entrepreneurship and the legislative framework,” the TOBB told representatives of the Kazakhstan National Chamber.
The delegation of NCE “Atameken” also got acquainted with the support measures for small and medium-sized enterprises, which is provided to Turkish entrepreneurs by the Turkish SME support agency KOSGEB in solving technical and economic problems, improving the quality and technological level of work, providing new opportunities for promoting products on the market, and assisting in digitalization. processes and services. Representatives of the Kazakh side adopted the unique experience of developing the Centers for Technological Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses – “technological incubators” that help commercialize research work. Here, businessmen are also provided with free premises, technical and financial support.
Both large Turkish holdings and representatives of small and medium-sized businesses operate in Kazakhstan. The main areas where Turkish companies are represented are infrastructure, transport, telecommunications, food, light and pharmaceutical industries, production of building materials, metallurgy, oil and chemical industries. Turkish entrepreneurs have invested heavily in hotels and shopping centers, distribution networks, the automotive business, the financial sector and education. Cooperation in the construction sector is successfully developing.
During the meeting at the headquarters of TOBB, representatives of NCE Atameken placed great emphasis on the issues of interaction with Turkish forwarding companies for the return loading of Kazakh carriers from Turkey to Kazakhstan.
Representatives of the business circles of both countries discussed the possibility of developing cooperation in other areas, including the creation of a joint production of light industry products and the transfer of wood processing plants to Kazakhstan.
