Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in a festive event dedicated to International Women’s Day on March 8.
In his speech, the President noted the special role of women in the life of society. He emphasized that such wonderful qualities come from women, such as beauty and tenderness, kindness and mercy.

“For each of us, there is no one in the world more precious than a mother. Our most cherished values are firmly connected with the concepts of “Mother – Earth”, “Motherland – Mother”. Of particular importance is the folk wisdom “the father brings up the son, the mother brings up the nation.” The future of the people depends on the upbringing of the younger generation. A mother’s love is the key to a child’s success. The noble qualities of the “perfect man”, about which the great Abai spoke, were passed down from generation to generation thanks to mothers. At present, our country has entered an important stage of development. Large-scale reforms aimed at building a Just Kazakhstan are being carried out. Therefore, it is very important to strengthen the spirit of patriotism and statehood. It is necessary to raise a new generation that will honor our sky-blue flag, be faithful to its people, and respect knowledge,” the President believes.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev further drew attention to the fact that “the most effective investments are investments in youth.”

– Currently, our girls are studying at the best universities in the world, working in large global companies. Women who have mastered many professions successfully work in various fields. Among them are teachers, doctors, civil servants, educators, seamstresses, representatives of other professions. Our wonderful athletes successfully perform at international competitions. Many women are successful in business and employ thousands of people. I’m proud of all of you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” the Head of State said.

According to the President, life shows that women are good leaders – fair, wise, creative.

– The share of women in small and medium-sized businesses today has reached 42%. This is the result of consistent state support for women’s entrepreneurship. Last year, more than 6,000 mothers with many children who wanted to start their own business received a special grant. Many women in the villages are actively involved in business. Thousands of women will receive government subsidies for their business projects. 250 billion tenge was allocated for these purposes,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized.

The head of state noted that on his behalf, a new concept of family and gender policy was adopted. This document creates conditions for women to be able to maximize their abilities and find their place in life. The head of state is convinced that every woman deserves to be happy in her family, successful at work, and active in society.

At the end of the solemn meeting, the President awarded the winners of the Aruana contest for the best women’s project.
