The issues of the bilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan were discussed  in the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan 

Today, Minister of Health Alexei Tsoi held an online meeting with the Minister of Health and Medical Industry of the Republic of Turkmenistan Nurmukhammet Amannepesov. The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare and identified further prospects for interaction, as well as exchanged experience on vaccine prevention against coronavirus infection COVID-19 and sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population.

“Let me greet you and note the importance of bilateral cooperation in the field of health care, which is based on mutual respect and mutual trust. For a year now we have been living in conditions of COVID-19. The pandemic has demonstrated the need for interaction with countries and mutual support for each other. It became obvious that the victory over the pandemic spread all over the world is possible only by joint efforts, ”A. Tsoi said.

The head of the Ministry of Health informed his colleague about the work that the Republic of Kazakhstan has done to ensure economic stability and counteract the spread of infection, as well as vaccination of the population against COVID-19.

“According to monitoring data from the electronic registration system in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as of March 11, 2021, 50,737 people were vaccinated with the first component. At the same time, 41,829 medical workers, 5,392 teachers, 1,156 employees of law enforcement agencies, 445 district police officers and 174 personnel and contingent of medical and social institutions in the republic were vaccinated. The second component is 18,210 people. Most of the vaccinations are given to healthcare workers who received the first dose in February. Vaccination will be continued in stages, taking into account the receipt of the vaccine, ”said A. Tsoi.

No serious adverse events have been reported following immunization according to monitoring. At the same time, in 1% of vaccinated persons, the expected reactions are recorded, which are described in the instructions for the vaccine, such as flu-like conditions with an increase in body temperature, general malaise, as well as local manifestations in the form of swelling and redness at the injection site.

At the same time, given the continuing instability associated with the spread of COVID-19, A. Tsoi suggested continuing partnership with Turkmenistan in the form of a constant exchange of information on the current epidemiological situation and ongoing measures to stabilize it. In addition, given the importance of bilateral cooperation in the field of health, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan emphasized the importance of continuing the partnership to provide advisory and technical assistance in the accreditation of medical organizations, IT technologies, ambulance services, primary health care and medical science, the provision of high-tech medical services for citizens of Turkmenistan in medical organizations. RK. And also on the organization of refresher courses in medical specialties for Turkmen medical workers.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reiterated the importance of cooperation in the field of health and expressed their hope to use the experience gained by the countries in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
