THE INTRODUCTION OF DOMESTIC ORGANIC PRODUCTS TO THE PRC MARKET

june 27, 2022

It is very important to export domestic organic products to the Chinese market. Not all parties lose points from such an export. Only the state bodies of our country should negotiate with the Chinese government and arrange it in documents. This issue was discussed today at the square of the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.

Representatives of Agriculture, Trade and Integration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, QazTrade JSC and business representatives took part in the meeting.

Yerbol Yeseneev, director of the Department of Agro-industrial complex and food industry of the National Chamber, noted that there is a great potential for the export of organic products to the Chinese market.

“The events of the last months have shown that it is ineffective to export products far away. Because logistics, payment and other problems arose. There are entrepreneurs ready to export organic products to China. The volume we are currently producing and exporting is small, but the potential will be huge in the future. Therefore, the opportunity should not be missed. No one will lose from this trade,” Yerbol Yeseneev said.

Özhet Shegirbayev, director of the Research and Consulting Department of QazTrade JSC, noted that the company is ready to act as an operator of state support if state authorities negotiate with a foreign government.

Since September 2019, no memorandum has been signed with the Chinese side. First, the State Customs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Customs Administration of the People’s Republic of China should sign the memorandum. Then the way to the Chinese market will be opened. So, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sends to China which products are exported. That is why the active activity of state bodies is necessary,” said Ozhet Shegirbayev.

In addition, Arsen Kerimbekov, director of the Qazaq Organic Union, said that the road map for the development of organic agriculture (task 17-13/2738 dated 25.05.2022 of the first deputy prime minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan) will be published soon.

Almas Seytakinov, head of the Department of Asia and the Pacific Region of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is ready to organize negotiations as a branch agency, saying that in cooperation with industry state bodies, they are constantly working to bring domestic products, including agricultural products, to the market of the PRC.
