The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan took part in an international videoconference within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative

– Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi took part in an international high-level video conference of the Asia-Pacific region. This event was held at the initiative of the Chinese side within the framework of the One Belt, One Road program and its main theme was “Promoting cooperation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic for sustainable recovery.”
In his speech, M. Tleuberdi put forward a number of initiatives, including the establishment of cooperation in the field of digitalization of health care, ensuring access to vaccines against COVID-19 and their equitable distribution as a global public good, as well as creating a practical mechanism of cooperation in the fight against coronavirus infection with countries -participants in the Asia-Pacific region.
The videoconference was attended by the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the APR countries, Latin America, Central Asia, as well as the heads of international organizations, who discussed further ways of interaction in the fight against the pandemic and exchanged views on the restoration of the global economy in the post-pandemic period. The foreign ministers paid special attention to the prospects for cooperation in the field of green economy and investment, as well as solving urgent environmental problems. At the same time, M. Tleuberdi noted that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the UN environmental agenda and intends to continue work on greening the economy. As a result of the event, the parties adopted two documents: “Belt and Road Partnership Initiative for cooperation in the field of vaccines against COVID-19” and “Belt and Road Partnership Initiative for cooperation in the field of green development.”
