The Head of state sent a telegram of condolences to the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the news of the tragic incident in Cetinje with deep sorrow, which took the lives of many people, including children. The President expressed his sincere condolences to the people of Montenegro and the families of the victims, and also wished a speedy recovery to all the victims.
On January 1, 2025, a shooting occurred in the city of Cetinje (Montenegro), as a result of which at least 12 people were killed, including two children. Four more were injured. This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs Danilo Šaranović. 1 According to the investigation, suspect Aco Martinović killed four people in one of the establishments in the central part of the city, and then in other areas – other people, including members of his family. Martinović committed suicide. 1 Martinovic had previously been given a suspended sentence for hooliganism. In 2022, weapons and explosives were found on him. For this, he was sentenced to three months in prison. 1 The Montenegrin government declared three days of mourning – January 2, 3 and 4. The country was considering a complete ban on gun ownership.
