The head of state Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received the rector of KazNU named after al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuymebaev

During the meeting, the results of academic, research and innovation activities, new directions and prospects for the development of the university were presented to the President.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev was informed that more than 24 thousand students study at the educational institution, including 2.8 thousand foreign citizens from 54 countries of the world. 542 educational programs are being implemented, the number of scientific centers and projects has been increased. In 2022, more than 30 agreements were concluded with leading universities in the USA, Great Britain, Japan, France, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey. The branches of the university operate in Istanbul and Bishkek. A branch of MEPhI (Moscow) was opened in Almaty on the basis of the university.
Zhanseit Tuymebayev said that in 2022 the salaries of the teaching staff will be increased. In addition, the repair of educational buildings, laboratories and dormitories was completed. By a court decision, two land plots were returned to KazNU.
The President of Kazakhstan pointed to the importance of further development of the university and focused on the need to strengthen the international status of the university, strengthen research activities.
