The head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the director of the Institute of Contemporary Studies Mukhit-Ardager Sydyknazarov

During the meeting, Mukhit-Ardager Sydyknazarov, director of the Institute of Modern Studies of the Eurasian National University named after L. Gumilyov, told Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about the results of his scientific research and presented the book “Continuous Statehood of Kazakhstan in the Stream of History. The Kazakh State on European and American Maps of the 16th-19th Centuries.
According to the scientist, since the creation of the Kazakh Khanate in 1465, its name has been mentioned in atlases created by leading Western cartographic publishers, including those in the USA, Belgium, England, France, Italy, and Germany. The work covers the period from 1562 to 1879 and clearly illustrates the key stages in the development of our statehood. In total, the work includes 130 cards. According to the author, his book was published in Belgium as a tribute to the fact that the Belgian and Dutch cartographers were among the first to mark the Kazakh state on their atlases.
The head of state highly appreciated the work done and noted the need to organize special exhibitions in the regions of the country and abroad, where the public could get acquainted with the results of scientific research.
