Since the beginning of the year, more than 6,000 high-tech medical services have been received by Kazakhstanis – SMIF

For 10 months of 2020, 6,715 high-tech medical services (HTMS) were provided to the population of Kazakhstan in the amount of 20.9 billion tenge. Most of them were received by patients with severe diseases of the cardiovascular system, neurosurgical, and gynecological diseases.

The average cost of a treated case is 3.1 million tenge.

“It should be noted that both residents of cities and remote villages have equal access to 78 types of HTMS. If a person falls ill, he needs diagnostics and treatment using innovative technologies, then regardless of where he lives, he can count on routine medical care, the main condition is the status of insurance in the compulsory health insurance. In the event that the procedure required by the patient is not available at the local level, he is sent to the regional or republican clinic, ”the press service of the Social Health Insurance Fund explained.

Aigul Abikeyeva, the head of the patient support service and internal control of the city polyclinic №9, spoke about how you can get high-tech medical care.

“If a person feels unwell, he should turn to a local therapist, who will diagnose him and send him for further examinations and consultations with specialists. The conclusion about whether an operation is needed is made by the doctor of the clinic that performs this type of HTMS. If the need for surgical intervention is confirmed, then the patient begins to prepare for planned hospitalization. The polyclinic is responsible for collecting the tests necessary for this and placing them on the portal of the Bureau of Hospitalization, ”the expert said.

This algorithm applies to both urban and rural residents. It should be noted that each patient has the right to choose the organization in which he wants to receive HTMS.

At the expense of social health insurance, patients who underwent surgery can also undergo rehabilitation. In 2020, the SMIF entered into contracts with 559 providers of these services.

Let us remind you that if a patient is denied medical care, or he has questions about the rules of rehabilitation, he can contact the 1406 contact center or leave a request in the Qoldau 24/7 mobile application.
