SAYASAT NURBEK: THE KNU STARTED EFFECTIVELY SOLVING THE PROBLEM OF LACK OF HOSTELS

At the Kazakh National University named after Farabi, they solved the problem of lack of places in dormitories by carrying out major repairs and redevelopment of the premises. Thus, it is planned to increase the housing area of the hostels of the university by 2000 beds.Today, hostel No. 10, which was overhauled as part of the ongoing systemic renovation of the campus, is reopened and put into operation for students.
The opening was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasata Nurbeka. During the meeting, Sayasat Nurbek examined the renovated dormitory rooms and talked with students. Zhanseit Tuymebayev the Chairman of the Board – Rector of the Kazakh National University after Al-Farabi noted the work done aimed at resolving the issue of the shortage of dormitories in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State.
The rector of the university showed the minister photographs showing the condition of the premises before and after the renovation. During the renovation, the facade of the building was updated, and the walls of all rooms were again plastered and finished. Doors-windows have been replaced, modern shower cabins have been installed in each section. The power supply system was reconstructed and new lighting devices were installed.
In addition, the installation work of the pipeline and sewerage of the building was carried out. In the renovated dormitory for 313 places, along with students of the Faculty of History, students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology and Physics and Technology were accommodated. KazNU will soon overhaul all dormitories and improve the social status of students.
