In his welcome speech, the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, noted the dynamic development of this sport in Kazakhstan.
“On behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the RK, let me greet all participants and guests of the competition. Kazakhstan for the first time accepts the World Cup Modern Pentathlon Final. I want to express my deep gratitude to the International Federations for their trust. In recent years, pentathlon in our country is developing very dynamically. Over the shoulders of the National Team of the Republic of Kazakhstan in modern pentathlon there is a gold medal of the Asian Pentathlon Championship, a silver medal of the World Junior Championships, a bronze of the UIPM World Cup Final, silver of the Asian Championships. I believe that new names will appear in these competitions. I wish good luck to all athletes, “said Arystanbek Mukhamediuly.
In turn, the President of the International Union of Modern Pentathlon Klaus Schorman told about the main criteria for which the accent was made when choosing the country hostess of the Final World Cup-2018 on modern pentathlon.
Head coach of the national team of Kazakhstan Vadim Chudnovsky noted the main rivals of Kazakhstani athletes and told in general about the level of preparation for the World Cup.
Recall that the World Cup in modern pentathlon will be held from June 21 to June 24 on the basis of the cycling track “Saryarka”, the sports complex “Barys Arena” and the racecourse “Kazanat”. Competitions timed to the 20th anniversary of the capital. The strongest athletes of the world, included in the international rating of 36 strongest men and 36 strongest among women, were selected for the World Cup.
During the sovereign Kazakhstan, the members of the National Modern Pentathlon Team repeatedly became winners and prizewinners of elite international competitions: a gold medal in the team competition of the 1982 World Championship in Rome (Italy), a gold medal of the 1996 World Championships in Rome (Italy).
