President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov

President – Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard a report from the head of the defense department on the state of combat readiness of the army.

Ruslan Zhaksylykov reported on the operational and combat training of army units, the main efforts aimed at training command and control bodies and personnel. During the conversation, the importance of effective interaction between the Armed Forces and central and local authorities in crisis situations, including during the current flood control period, was noted.

The President was also informed about equipping the Armed Forces with modern equipment and weapons, the development of territorial defense troops, and the improvement of military infrastructure. Information was announced on events planned for 2024 within the framework of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the SCO and CSTO, as well as on large-scale exercises, including at the international level.

In addition, the Head of State was reported on the work of the department on military-patriotic education, spring conscription for military service, measures to improve the social status of military personnel and the prestige of military service.

The President noted the importance of the activities of the Kazakh peacekeeping contingent in the Golan Heights under the auspices of the UN.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of State set a number of tasks for the minister aimed at further increasing the combat potential of the Armed Forces.
