A Suppllier of test strips for patients with diabetes will be a domestic manufacturer
More than 300,000 test strips, as well as glucometers for patients with diabetes mellitus, which can determine blood sugar levels, were purchased for the first three months of 2018 from a domestic producer to provide a 90-day demand of KZT 650 million.
Another 570 thousand test strips for the remaining months of the year for the amount of over 1.1 billion tenge will be purchased by the results of the tender of the Single Distributor.
At present, the production and supply of test strips and glucometers is carried out by the domestic manufacturer Axel and A. The state purchases glucometers and test strips from this manufacturer as part of a long-term contract concluded with the manufacturer in 2015 for a period of 7 years, and by the results of tenders of the Single Distributor, where the domestic supplier, participating in procurement procedures, receives absolute preferences when participation in the tender of the Kazakhstan plant, other applicants are simply not considered.
By the way, in 2017 Kazakhstan-based test strips and glucometers of domestic production were provided for 1.16 billion tenge. These products were given free of charge to patients with diabetes mellitus, who are on dispensary records as part of the guaranteed volume of free medical care.
