At the film festival “Eurasia” participate at once 10 pictures of the film studio “Kazakhfilm”
In the competitive and non-competitive programs of the XIV International Eurasia Film Festival, 10 films produced by the Kazakhfilm studios named after Sh. Aymanov take part. This year the program of the film festival consists of 8 sections. Of them, the competition – “International Competition” and “Short Meter Competition”, where the studio is represented by the artistic full-length picture “Amre” (Jeff Vespa) and short film “Hide and Seek” (Venus Kairzhanova) respectively.
In the out-of-competition programs “Caravan”, “From the Heart of Eurasia”, “Selecting the NetPack”, “Around the World”, “Special Event” and “Lens”, residents and guests of Astana will be able to see both new Kazakhstani films and films of international film festivals of the class “A”.
Within the framework of the “Caravan” there will be screenings of art ribbons “Talan” by Bulat Kalymbetov and “Arua” by Huat Akhmetov, where the best 10 pictures of the past and current years of the Turkic-speaking countries and countries are selected. The program “From the Heart of Eurasia” presents two new full-length animated pictures – “Mizbala” by Turdybek Maidan, Tlek Toleugazy and “Kltegin” Adaya Abeldinova. And also the art paintings that were released this year – “Oasis” by Begars Elubaya and “Elfreeman” by Elzhas Rahimbekov. In addition, the documentary film “Lens” will feature films “13 kilometers” by Vladimir Tyulkin and “Kazakh dance” by Anvara Sadykova and Gaziz Nasyrova. All the screenings of the festival films are free of charge in the cinemas CHAPLIN CINEMA MegaSilkWay and CHAPLIN CINEMA shopping mall Khan Shatyr.
In addition to the Kazakhstani picture, there are films such as “Girls Are Always Happy” directed by Yang Minmin (China), “Anna’s War” directed by Alexei Fedorchenko (Russia), “The Party is Over” directed by Marie Garelwies (France), in the main competition of the XIV ICF “Eurasia” “Persecuting Hitchhiker” directed by Hije Jong (South Korea), “Dede” directed by Mariyam Hatchani (Georgia), “Dove” directed by Banu Siwachi (Turkey), “Perseverance” directed by Rashid Malikov (Uzbekistan), “Suleiman Mountain” directed by Elizaveta Stishova Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Poland), “With foam at the mouth” mode (Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Russia), “Horizons” directed by Svetislav Dragomirovich (Serbia), “Aha” directed by Milko Lazarov (Bulgaria, Germany, France). A total of 12 full-length films and 35 short films in a short-distance contest take part in the international competition.
The jury members of the main jury are: director, screenwriter and producer Wang Xiaoshui, producer Amir Esfandiari, film festival organizer and program composer Peter Scarlet, winner of the Oscar Award Gabriella Christiani, director, screenwriter Yermek Tursunov. And the jury of the competition of short films included well-known Turkish director Semih Kaplanoglu, Kazakhstani actress Samal Yeslyamova, American cameraman Hiro Narita, Serbian actor Milos Bikovich, Singapore art curator and director Jeremy Chua.
Recall, the XIV international film festival “Eurasia” is held within the framework of the “Ruhani zharyrou” program, in honor of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the capital of Astana from July 1 to July 7, 2018.
