More than 8.8 thousand ethnic Kazakhs have received the status of kandas since the beginning of 2021

As of July 1, 2021, 8,867 people returned to their historical homeland and received the status of candidates. Since 1991, 1 million 79.2 thousand ethnic Kazakhs have returned to the republic. “More than half of the candidates (75.5%) who have arrived in Kazakhstan since the beginning of this year are from Uzbekistan, 10.4% are from China, 7% are from Turkmenistan, 2.5% are from Mongolia and 4, 5% – from other countries, “the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports. Arriving ethnic Kazakhs mainly settled in Almaty (29.9%), Turkestan (14.5%), Mangistau (18.7%) and Zhambyl (8.0%) regions, as well as in the city of Shymkent (10.7% ). As of July 1 of this year, the number of ethnic immigrants of working age is 55.5%, 25.3% are younger than able-bodied people and 19.2% are pensioners. Of the candidates of working age by the level of education, 10.9% have higher education, 39.3% have specialized secondary education, 45.9% have general secondary education and 3.9% have no education.
