More than 1.2 thousand health workers received payments from the SSIF in connection with COVID-19 infection and pneumonia

1,259 medical workers involved in the fight against COVID-19 received one-time social payments from the State Social Insurance Fund (hereinafter referred to as the SSIF) in case of coronavirus infection or viral pneumonia. The SSIF also transferred payments to the relatives of 11 health workers who died as a result of the disease.

As previously reported, health workers who are entitled to the above payment are determined by special commissions at health departments of regions and cities of republican significance, based on the results of the examination of sick medical workers. The general set of applications is formed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, after which the applications are forwarded to the  State Corporation “Government for Citizens” NJSC for the formation of electronic layouts of cases, from where they are further sent to the SSIF for assigning payments.

As of 9:00 a.m. on September 7, the SSIF assigned and disbursed funds for 1,259 applications in case of infection with COVID-19 or viral pneumonia and for 11 applications in case of death.

In the context of regions, the largest number of payments in case of infection with COVID-19 or viral pneumonia was made to health workers from Nur-Sultan (251) and Almaty (139), Almaty (105), Karaganda (97) and Akmola (95) regions.

Let us recall that in accordance with the changes made on July 22 of the current year in the joint order of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 9 this year  “On the approval of the Rules for the implementation of a one-time social payment to healthcare workers involved in anti-epidemic measures to combat coronavirus infection COVID-19, in the event of their infection or death from this infection”, the above payment is due:

– medical workers in case of infection with coronavirus infection or viral pneumonia – 2 million tenge;

– families of these persons in case of their death from infection with coronavirus infection COVID-19, viral pneumonia – 10 million tenge.
