MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION SAYASAT NURBEK TOOK PART IN THE EVENT DEDICATED TO THE BINANCE BLOCKCHAIN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

Today, the results of the launch of an educational program in cooperation with leading government organizations in Kazakhstan were announced. The event was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek.
It is worth noting that this initiative was launched in December 2022 by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Blockchain Center research laboratory with the support of Binance Kazakhstan and Binance Academy, the Center for the Development of Payment and Financial Technologies of the National Bank of the Republic Kazakhstan and Astana Hub.

“More than 4,000 students began studying blockchain engineering and blockchain compliance. Cooperation with international partners, including Binance, helps Kazakh educational institutions create the future of an innovative economy, preparing unique and competitive specialists for both the domestic and global markets,” said Minister Sayasat Nurbek.

Kazakhstan became the first state in the world to introduce a standard educational program in universities on a national scale. 22 universities are participating in the pilot program, six different blockchain engineering disciplines have been developed, and currently 16 universities have introduced blockchain disciplines into their educational programs. The implementation of the program itself took place in four stages.
As part of the educational program, more than 300 teachers improved their qualifications. Of these, 293 were trained in blockchain engineering, and 28 were trained in blockchain compliance.
Currently, more than 4,000 students have already begun training in blockchain engineering and blockchain compliance at domestic universities. It is expected that by 2026 the number of students will increase to 40 thousand.
A separate significant event was the large-scale hackathon in the field of Web3 – “Decentrathon”. Covering 9 regions of Kazakhstan, it became a record multilocation hackathon in the world, gathering more than 1,500 participants. The event resulted in 50 high-quality solutions on the “BNB Greenfield” theme.
