Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdy with the Secretary-General of the CSTO

The Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdy met with Stanislav Zas, the Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the current work of the CSTO, discussed a wide range of issues in all key areas of the Organization’s activities.
The minister accepted the invitation to the next meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers to be held in Dushanbe this May.
The parties expressed their readiness to cooperate to further strengthen the Organization.
The CSTO was established in 2002 and is an international regional organization, which, along with Kazakhstan, includes Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. Currently, the CSTO is chaired by the Republic of Tajikistan. The next session of the CSTO Collective Security Council will be held in the fourth quarter of 2021 in Tajikistan.
A representative of Belarus S. Zas was appointed to the post of Secretary-General of the CSTO for the period from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2022.
