Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the Sixth Caspian Summit

Ashgabat, Turkmenistan In his speech, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev thanked Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the warm hospitality and excellent organization of the summit. At the same time, the Head of our state called holding this important meeting in person justified and very timely.
As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized, the Caspian is not only a huge concentration of useful resources, but also a “sea of ​​unlimited possibilities.” In his speech, the Head of State outlined promising approaches to further cooperation in order to fully use the potential of the Caspian countries.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev believes that in the context of a break in traditional supply chains, transport interconnectivity is becoming a key factor in sustainable growth and strengthening the economic ties of states. The role of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route has increased to ensure transit flows between Europe, Central Asia and China.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dwelled separately on the issue of strengthening food security in the region. The President proposed the creation of a Caspian food hub, which will increase mutual trade with minimal costs.

Along with this, the Head of State called the preservation of the Caspian ecosystem one of the key areas of cooperation.

Thanking the President of Russia for his support in this matter, the Head of State called on the parties to join efforts and develop a common plan of action to improve the condition of the Ural River. In addition, speaking about the environmental problems of the common sea, the President touched upon the plight of the Caspian seals and called on the Caspian countries to support the initiative of Kazakhstan and Russia to reformat the protected area into a specially protected natural area and join it.

The attention of the summit participants was drawn to the importance of combating illegal fishing of biological resources in the Caspian Sea.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the need for closer cultural and humanitarian cooperation and the formation of a consortium of analytical structures of the Caspian Five.

“I am sure, showing goodwill and mutual aspiration, we will achieve this noble goal for the benefit of the prosperity and progress of our peoples and countries,” the Head of State summed up.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov-Turkmenistan President, Ilham Aliyev- President of the Republic of Azerbaijan , Ibrahim Raisi-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Vladimir Putin-President of the Russian Federation  also spoke at the Sixth Caspian Summit. As a result of the forum, the heads of state adopted a communiqué.
