The Kazakh Foreign Minister held talks with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office and the Swedish Foreign Minister

– Acting Chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde paid an official visit to Kazakhstan as part of a regional tour of Central Asia.
During the talks with Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tleuberdy, the topical issues on the current agenda of the Organization in all three dimensions of military-political, economic-environmental, and humanitarian activities were discussed. Much attention was paid to the current state and prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Organization, plans for cooperation in the coming years. At the meeting, the parties noted the importance of implementing the “On the Way to the Security Community” Astana Declaration adopted in December 2010 following the OSCE Summit. During the talks, the parties discussed issues of further cooperation in the framework of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office thanked the Kazakh side for supporting the priorities of the Swedish chairmanship. She noted that in the current situation, preventive diplomacy and mediation will become necessary tools for conflict prevention and resolution.
As part of the visit program, A. Linde was received by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.
