During the meeting, issues of implementing a project for the production of passenger cars in Kazakhstan were discussed.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev was informed about the plans of the Swiss company Stadler Rail AG to modernize the plant for the production of railcars, use Kazakh aluminum and establish a full production cycle.
Peter Spuler spoke about the intention to increase the level of localization to 35% by 2030, as well as plans to enter the export market with Kazakh products.
The interlocutors also discussed the transfer of knowledge and expertise. The company plans to organize training centers for Kazakh youth, as well as build constructive relationships with Kazakh colleges and universities.
The President expressed confidence that the implementation of the joint project would strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Switzerland.
