Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Teri Khakala, EU Special Representative for Central Asia

Via videoconference, the President held a meeting with the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia, Teri Hakala.
During the conversation, topical issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union were discussed.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev confirmed his interest in developing multifaceted cooperation with the European Union, one of the key partners of Kazakhstan, and his readiness to give a new impetus to bilateral strategic cooperation.
The President reported on the recent constitutional referendum and reforms to build a New and Just Kazakhstan.
In turn, Teri Hakala congratulated the President on the successful conduct of the referendum and stressed the EU’s commitment to long-term cooperation and interaction with Kazakhstan, Brussels’ leading partner in the Central Asian region.
She also stated that the EU fully supports the reform program of the Head of State and highly appreciates the multi-vector and balanced foreign policy of Kazakhstan.
The European Union expressed great interest in strengthening transport and logistics ties with Kazakhstan.
In addition, a thorough exchange of views took place on topical issues of the regional and global agenda.
