The governor of Almaty Bauyrzhan Baybek held a meeting for the realization of state programs and the five social initiatives of the Head of State.

At the end of the year, all major indicators were achieved in Almaty. Thus, in the framework of the “Nurly Zher” program, 323.8 thousand sq. m. were commissioned on the territory of the city or 4,725 apartments. This year construction of another 340 thousand square meters is planned. housing stock. The presidential program “7-20-25” is being actively implemented. Today, more than 25% of applications across the country fall on Almaty. In addition, over the past year, 2 million sq.m. were commissioned. housing or more than 11.5 thousand apartments. By the end of this year, another 2.1 million sq.m.

Active growth has also been recorded among small and medium-sized businesses. At the same time, the city also confidently ranks first in terms of the number of people employed in this field. In the first 9 months, the output of SMEs amounted to 4.7 trillions tenge with an increase of 21.2% and with a share in the country’s output, 26.4%, which is the highest in the country.

In the field of education, there is also a positive trend. To reduce the shortage of student places and priority in kindergartens associated with intensive migration, increasing birth rates and joining new territories, in 2018 a school for 1,200 children in the Nauryzbai district was commissioned, new extensions to three schools for 1,400 students, 3 state children garden for 730 seats. In addition, at the end of the year, 6 private schools for 2.5 thousand places and 170 private kindergartens for 4936 places were opened.

At the end of January, another 2 state kindergartens for 440 places will be commissioned. A school is being built for 600 places in the Alatau district and 3 state kindergartens for 360 places. As part of the public-private partnership and social responsibility of business, additional academic buildings will be built in 4 more central loaded schools.

In order to improve the conditions of student youth, on the instructions of the Head of State, 3 hostels for 1,200 beds have already been built in Almaty, including one modernized. By the end of the year, the construction of 5 more hostels with 2,680 beds will be completed, and the construction of 12 hostels with 6,300 beds will begin at the same time. In general, until the end of 2020, construction and commissioning of 42 hostels with 19,480 beds are planned.

During the meeting, the governor of Almaty heard information about the further rate of gasification of the city and the private sector itself. According to deputy of the governor Almas Madiyev, 99% of subscribers are already connected to the gas supply system. Of the 2217 remaining houses planned for gasification, which is only 1% of the private sector, 200 houses are already connected. About 1,000 more houses received access to gas supply, and the remaining 1,017 houses are planned to be provided with access to distribution networks in the third quarter of this year.

At the same time, Bauyrzhan Baybek drew particular attention to the need not only to supply the appropriate infrastructure, but to ensure the full transition of the private sector to gas. Today, some residents continue to heat their homes with materials harmful to the atmosphere, including often low-quality coal, rubber, etc.

Considering the need for a radical improvement of ecology in the city, Almaty’s governor instructed to investigate this matter with the involvement of the environmental prosecutor’s office. At the same time, an agreement has already been reached with all companies on reducing the prices for connecting to gas networks. So, discounts for socially vulnerable segments of the population are provided. For example, for participants of the Great Patriotic War – for free, for low-income and large families – 50%, for disabled people of I, II groups – 30%.
