In Almaty region, sugar beet production will be increased to 2 million tons
At the initiative of the Government in the Almaty region, it is planned to increase the production of sugar beet to 2 million tons. To achieve this goal, an additional 36.8 thousand hectares of irrigated land will be put into circulation. This was announced today by the regional akim Amandyk Batalov during the visit of the government selector with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar. According to the regional akim, today the sown area of sugar beet in the region amounted to 16.3 thousand hectares, last year 550 thousand tons of raw materials were processed at the Aksu and Koksu sugar factories. “Now the task has been set to increase production up to 2 million tons. We will gladly begin the implementation of this ambitious task and will make every effort to effectively achieve it. The production capacity of the Aksu sugar plant is 550 thousand tons, the Koksu sugar plant – 250 thousand tons. We calculated that Alakol and Karabulak sugar factories will be able to process 500 thousand tons each, ”A. Batalov said.
– Thanks to the support of the Government, the Kyzylagash dam was restored, now it has collected 30 million cubic meters. meters of water. Thanks to this dam, 7 thousand hectares of irrigated land will be put into circulation. There is room for further expansion. For this purpose, measures are planned for the construction of 2 reservoirs – Pokatilovskoye with a volume of 80 million m3 and Buyenskoye with a volume of 5 million m3, as well as irrigation networks on 4 massifs. These are Kyzylagashsky – 7 thousand hectares, Baskan – 19.8 thousand hectares, Buyensky – 5 thousand hectares, Zhanaminsky – 5 thousand hectares. Today, a project for the construction of the Kyzylagash irrigation massif for the amount of 8.9 billion tenge is ready, for the remaining 5 projects, the development of feasibility studies and design estimates will be started at the expense of the local budget. The commissioning of only one Pokatilovskoye reservoir will make it possible to bring into circulation 24 thousand hectares of land. Agrarians accepted this news with joy. These are also new jobs. In the second half of this year, we plan to allocate additional funds for the creation of service-procurement centers and the purchase of the necessary agricultural equipment, – said the regional akim. At the end of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar noted that with the commissioning of one or two more plants, the issue will not be resolved, therefore, an integrated approach is required.
