Ambassador of Kazakhstan Zhanar Aitzhanova shared experience entry into the World Trade Organization
November 30, 2016 The Republic of Kazakhstan marked the first anniversary of the entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO). On this occasion, the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Zhanar Aitzhanova made a presentation on Kazakhstan’s experience of negotiations on access to the market of services in the framework of the training course, organized by the WTO Secretariat for the representatives of the countries joining the organization.
During his speech the Ambassador noted that Kazakhstan pays great attention to the development of the service sector, which today provides 54% of GDP. The liberalization of trade in services contributed to the development of key sectors of the economy and improved the investment potential of our country.
Zhanar Aitzhanova acquainted course participants with the results of negotiations and commitments on access to the services market, and also spoke about the reforms implemented by the Government of Kazakhstan in the relevant field. Representatives of the countries negotiating to join the WTO, interested in issues such as the experience of Kazakhstan to protect their national interests, the coordination mechanism and coordination of negotiating positions, as well as Kazakhstan adopted measures to further improve the investment climate in key services sectors.
