“ENERGY TRANSITION: THE PATH TO NET ZERO”- 24th World Petroleum Congress

From 17-21 September 2023, the 24th edition of the World Petroleum Congress will prove to be an important bridge between the traditional energy sector and a more carbon neutral industry over years to come. Many important conversations will happen in Calgary to help define realistic, workable paths to a net zero future.
As the global gathering for the energy industry, the World Petroleum Congress is a place to dialogue, debate and inform on the future of energy. Attendees include government leaders, decision makers, and innovators from around the world.

The World Petroleum Council was formed in 1933. Today, it consists of approximately 60 member countries, representing more than 96% of the global oil and gas production and consumption. The Council is a non-advocacy, non-political organisation with charitable status in the U.K. and has accreditation as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) from the United Nations.
The Council provides a platform for sharing technical innovations, scientific developments, and thought leadership across the industry, addressing social and environmental challenges with a commitment towards sustainable management and use of the world’s petroleum resources for the benefit of all.

ABOUT THE CONGRESS

Every three years, the Council hosts the prestigious World Petroleum Congress in one of its
member countries. The triennial event draws industry and government leaders, from C-level
to heads of state; academia and NGOs; as well as the foremost companies from finance,
technology, and other stakeholders.
With a focus on high-level strategic panels and global experts discussing all aspects of the
global energy sector including best practices and innovations in upstream, midstream and
downstream operations and the natural gas industry. Increased attention will be focused on
petrochemicals, pipelines and supply chain. The future of the entire sector will be
examined under the lens of the path to net zero at the 24th World Petroleum Congress.
