Elzhan Birtanov awarded the best medical workers involved in the organization and holding of the specialized exhibition EXPO-2017

Today, the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the ceremony of awarding the best medical workers involved in the organization and holding of the specialized exhibition EXPO-2017.
Letters of thanks of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan were received by 46 medical workers involved in organizing and holding a specialized exhibition.
Opening the event, Yelzhan Birtanov thanked all those present for the successful completion of the international specialized exhibition EXPO – 2017, held in Astana from June 10 to September 10, 2017.
“Such a large-scale event held in our country has shown the increased economic opportunities of Kazakhstan, its authority and a high place among the countries of the world. EXPO was visited by almost 4 million people, which required a truly grandiose work on medical care and ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of such a large number of visitors. This event also has no analogues in the history of the organization of health care and for its duration – 90 days. ”
He also noted that a major preparatory work for the EXPO, mobilization of doctors not only of Astana, but also of a number of regions of Kazakhstan, became a pledge of the successful work of physicians. Professional, operative actions of physicians allowed in the shortest possible time to provide medical assistance to a large number of those who applied for it and prevent complications and complaints from visitors. Suffice it to say that about 9,000 people applied for medical help, almost one and a half thousand foreigners, and no cases of complications or death were tolerated.
At the same time, he also thanked the staff of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service for the coordinated work of specialists in conducting a large volume of preventive work.
For example, experts of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service daily monitored 85 food facilities located in the exhibition grounds and the MEGA Silk Way shopping and entertainment center. More than 38,000 items of products have been examined, more than 12,000 product samples have been examined expressly, 1625 lots of products weighing more than 11 tons have been rejected and not allowed to the EXPO territory, more than 3 tons of products have been destroyed and disposed of. In order to prevent the import of infectious diseases from abroad, an intensified sanitary and quarantine control was carried out at the international airport in Astana for persons arriving from abroad. Over the period of EXPO 218 thousand passengers and 14 thousand crew members were checked. Passengers with suspicion of especially dangerous infections were not found, “he added.
At the same time, he stressed that behind these dry figures there is a huge selfless work of our medical workers who, regardless of personal time, family plans provided decent, high-level medical services to visitors of the Expo and visitors to the capital.
Summing up his speech, Yelzhan Birtanov once again thanked the medical workers for their great work, professionalism and dedication in providing medical care to the population and avoiding complications and problems in the medical provision of the most important international event for our country. He wished them good health, family well-being and success in their hard work.
