Digitalization Day of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On August 10, 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the “AstanaHub” International Technopark of IT startups held the Digitalization Day chaired by Dinara Scheglova, Vice Minister to discuss the following projects on digitalization of water transport:
– “Monitoring of ship systems”;
– “Complex of dredging works”;
– “Navigational signs”.
The main goal of the event is to organize dialogue, develop high-quality projects and proposals, raise market awareness on the tasks of digitalization of a state body.
River shipping in Kazakhstan is carried out in the Irtysh, Ural-Caspian and Ili-Balkhash basins on navigable sections with a total length of 4040.5 km, including:
– along the Irtysh basin from the border with the PRC to the border with the Russian Federation – 1719.5 km (East Kazakhstan region – 1116.5 km; Pavlodar region – 603 km);
– Ural-Caspian basin from the village of Rubezhka (WKO) to the entrance buoy to the Ural-Caspian canal – 1013 km (WKO – 623 km, Atyrau region –390 km, including the Ural-Caspian chanal);
– Ili-Balkhash basin -1308 km (Ili river -220 km, Kapchagay water reservoir – 110 km, Lake Balkhash – 978 km).
The main bases of the vessels are the cities of Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Pavlodar, Uralsk, Atyrau, Balkhash, and Kapchagay
During the event, plans for the digitalization of water transport and existing problems in this area were considered and discussed. Also, Dinara Shcheglova noted that the safety and efficiency of navigation depend on the created conditions , for which projects were proposed to improve the quality of the water transport industry, including water transport control.
At the same time, IT companies received answers from representatives of MIID and RGKP “Kazakhstan Suzholdary” to their questions on water transport, discussed the current situations of the courts, and also IT solutions were presented by IT companies.
