BEST TEACHER AWARDS
The ceremony of awarding the best teachers of universities took place in Astana. The winners received 6 million tenge each as a cash prize. The certificates were presented by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek.
The winners of the competition were 150 teachers from 43 Kazakh universities. Each of them received a reward in the amount of 2,000 MCI (6 million 126 thousand tenge). In addition to monetary incentives, teachers were awarded badges.
“It is important for us to motivate teachers and raise the prestige of the profession. And today we have gathered in the hall the best teachers of the country’s universities. On behalf of the Ministry, I would like to thank university professors for their professionalism and dedication to the chosen cause. One of the key priorities is to form a research ecosystem and increase scientific potential. We are currently working on opening foreign branches of three universities in our country. It should also be noted the need to transform universities into digital universities. All this is possible only thanks to your work, dear colleagues!” Minister Sayasat Nurbek said in a solemn speech.
The deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurtore Zhusup, who took part in the event as a guest, addressed the teachers with a welcoming speech.
“Being a teacher is a lot of work, because throughout his life a teacher constantly improves and increases his knowledge, passing it on to more than one generation of students and, to some extent, bearing responsibility for their future fate and their level of professionalism. I express my gratitude to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, which organized such an event and teachers who came from different parts of Kazakhstan,” the senator said.
It should be noted that in total, 775 teachers from 71 universities of the country took part in the competition “The Best University Teacher-2022”. The commission of the republican competition evaluated such indicators as the development and publication of electronic educational resources, educational materials, scientific publications in domestic and international journals, the availability of patents for inventions, etc. The quality of the applicant’s teaching, his work in training personnel in the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies were also evaluated.
