An opening of an agricultural center is planned on the basis of Baitursynuly University, together with the University of China
Kostanay Regional University named after. A. Baitursynuly received a return visit from a Chinese delegation led by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of the North West Agriculture and Forestry University (NWAFU), Professor Shan Weixing.
Let us recall that in September the delegation of the KRU named after. Baitursynuly, led by rector Seitbek Kuanyshbayev, visited the Northwestern Agriculture and Forestry University (NWAFU), which is among the top best agricultural universities in China, where they signed an agreement on mutual cooperation.
Today both parties met on Kazakh land to discuss details of cooperation in the field of agronomy, veterinary medicine, ecology and biology. For this purpose, KRU has developed a Roadmap, which reflects all the directions in which both universities will work. First of all, these are internships for students and teachers, academic mobility programs.
The main emphasis is on joint scientific research. In particular, we are talking about creating an agricultural center on the basis of KRU, where, together with NWAFU, university scientists will test new varieties of agricultural crops. For these purposes, a laboratory for virus-free potato seed material will be created at the University’s Research Institute of Applied Biotechnology. And in the near future, Kostanay scientists will go to China to undergo an internship, and from May 2024 to begin research work.
During the discussion of details, the parties also agreed to create working groups to develop double-diploma programs of KRU and NWAFU for a master’s program.
The Chinese guests visited the university buildings, the IT hub, saw how the laboratories of the Scientific Research Institute of Biochemical Sciences work, and visited the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, where they met with teachers and students of the university.
