Activity on the Electronic Labor Exchange has increased

The number of vacancies on the EST in April grew by 42%, and the resume – by 35%

According to the data of the Center for the Development of Labor Resources JSC (hereinafter referred to as the CDLR), over the past month, the activity on the Electronic Labor Exchange (hereinafter referred to as ELE) has sharply increased. In April, the number of vacancies at ELE increased by 26.5 thousand to 89 thousand, and the number of resumes – by 18.1 thousand, amounting to 69.3 thousand. Most of the vacancies were posted by enterprises in the sectors of other services and agriculture. One of the reasons for the increase in the total number of job offers at ELE in April is the start of seasonal work and the expansion of the activities of enterprises. The growth was due to all groups of occupations with the main increase in vacancies for highly qualified specialists (+4.3 thousand), workers in the service and sales sectors (+3.5 thousand), equipment operators, assemblers and drivers (+2.8 thousand .). Also, in view of the high turnover of personnel, there is always a high demand for unskilled workers, the number of vacancies for which has increased by 9.6 thousand. “At the same time, the largest increase in new vacancies in April was recorded in the category“ farmers and agricultural workers ”. So, over the month, the number of vacancies for this category increased 2.4 times to 1.6 thousand units, which is natural against the background of spring field work. It is interesting that the number of resumes among applicants belonging to this category has also increased by 2.1 times, ”said Ulpan Shegenova, head of the analysis department of the Strategy and Project Management Department of the MLSPP. As for individual professions, the most tangible increase in the number of vacancies was noted in such professions as a security guard (+1.4 thousand), a car driver (+0.9 thousand), a general practitioner (+.6 thousand), an accountant ( +0.4 thousand) and shop assistant (+0.4 thousand). Among the professions that involve unskilled labor, the largest increase in vacancies was noted for auxiliary workers and general laborers, including in the farm. The main increase in the number of resumes in April was recorded among candidates for practically the same groups of occupations as for vacancies: specialists of the highest category (+2.8 thousand), farmers and agricultural workers (+2.1 thousand), workers in the service sector and sales (+1.9 thousand) and unskilled workers (+8.4 thousand). Comparison of the number of resumes and vacancies on ELE shows that among qualified occupations, as in the previous month, there is a significant shortage of security guards (720 resumes versus 2365 vacancies), car drivers (1394 resumes and 2386 vacancies), waiters (19 resumes and 737 vacancies) as well as nursing staff (791 resumes and 1459 vacancies). Among the unskilled jobs in short supply are movers, helpers in the kitchen and laborers on the farm. Cattle breeders (2753 resumes versus 202 vacancies), animal caretakers (629 resumes and 36 vacancies), as well as seamstresses (945 resumes and 519 vacancies) became redundant among qualified occupations in April. Among unskilled occupations, high competition was noted among auxiliary workers, landscaping workers, watchmen and concierges. “As the regional analysis shows, the largest number of job offers were placed in the Kostanay region – 13% (11.6 thousand) of all vacancies in the country. A large number of vacancies in the region were posted by businesses in other services, agriculture and cereal production, health care, and road and motorway construction. It is also worth noting that private employment agencies are actively using ELE – 43% of vacancies in the region are announced by employment agencies. In terms of specialties, along with waiters and security guards, the enterprises of the Kostanay region often needed drivers, tractor drivers, car mechanics, handymen, and welders, ”Ulpan Shegenova noted. The three leaders in terms of the number of vacancies on ELE are closed by the megacities of Nur-Sultan (10.1 thousand) and Almaty (8.9 thousand), where the most vacant places are placed by enterprises of the sectors of other services and retail trade in non-specialized stores. Along with the positions for security guards and drivers, the largest number of job offers were placed for shop assistants and their assistants, sales consultants, as well as for cashiers and ticket sellers, which speaks of the active recovery of trade and services. At the same time, the dynamics of vacancies for the month shows that the growth of job offers is mainly characteristic of the southern regions, in particular Zhambyl (an increase in 2 times compared to March), Almaty (+ 92%) and Kyzylorda (+ 74%) regions. In Zhambyl and Kyzylorda regions, the demand for unskilled labor increased the most in April, while the demand of employers in Almaty region mainly increased for farmers and agricultural workers. Moreover, almost half of all CVs on ELE, as in previous months, were posted by residents of the same southern regions with the maximum increase in their number in Shymkent (1.8 times compared to March).
