A winter school to strengthen pedagogical educational potential has started
Since January 8, 2024, the KazNPU named after Abai has been hosting a Winter School with the aim of training teaching staff at the country’s universities. The winter school is the implementation of the teacher education model and the strengthening of its content; it is aimed at training 1,800 teachers from 42 universities implementing teacher education (TE) programs.
The objectives of the training are the implementation of a new model of 30 EP and an improved EP, developed within the framework of the project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Strengthening the pedagogical educational potential”, as well as providing knowledge and skills in writing syllabuses for educational programs. The training is conducted by the Department of Educational Program Design, classes are taught by 145 university teachers.
The speakers-trainers of this project are the director of the department of designing educational programs Adilya Baydildina, the head of the office of institutional effectiveness Sheripidin Khamraev, the director of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Galia Abaeva, the head of the department of computer science and informatization of education Nurzhamal Oshanova, as well as teachers Sholpan Karbaeva, Sholpan Nurman, Zoya Rabilova.
The educational programs prepared within the framework of this project at the university for the current academic year include students in nine bachelor’s degree programs and two master’s programs. Enrollment for seven more educational programs is planned for the new academic year.
The training seminar will last two weeks. In the second week, the participants will be joined by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nazarbayev University and Finnish experts. During the Winter School, the implementation of modern educational programs, as well as the tasks and prospects for the development of pedagogical universities in the country will be actively discussed.
