“A Dark, Dark man” by Adilkhan Yerzhanov was included in the long list of the Golden Globe Awards
The “A Dark, Dark Man” film directed by Adilkhan Yerzhanov was included in the long list of the Golden Globe Awards-2020 in the “Best Foreign Language Film” nomination. This American award is presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) for his work in television and screened films. The Golden Globes is awarded each year by the Hollywood international journalists. It is traditionally considered the second most prestigious award after the Oscar in the film industry. The list of nominees will be announced on February 3, 2021, and the award ceremony will take place on February 28.
Along with Yerzhanov’s picture, new films of such masters of world cinema as Thomas Vinterberg, Agnieszka Holland, Andrei Konchalovsky, Werner Herzog, Matteo Garrone, Hirokazu Koreeda, Naomi Kawase, Olivier Assayas, and others were included in the long-list of the award this year.

I also congratulate the”A Dark, Dark Man” entire team, I am glad that our joint work did not go unnoticed,” said director Adilkhan Yerzhanov.
Yerzhanov’s movie was created by Astana Film Fund (Kazakhstan) with the participation of Short Brothers (Kazakhstan) and Arizona Productions (France). Akan Satayev and Ernar Kurmashev were the general producers. Daniyar Alshinov, Dinara Baktybayeva, and Teoman Khos as the actors were starred in the film. It should be reminded that the world premiere of the film took place in 2019 at the 67th San Sebastian International Film Festival. Also in 2019, Adilkhan Yerzhanov was awarded the “Asia Pacific Screen Awards -2019″ (Asian Oscar) in the Best Director nomination for his work on the ” A Dark, Dark Man” film
Also in the fall of 2020, the “A Dark, Dark Man” film went to a wide theatrical release in France. It was shown in 60 cinemas in all major cities of the country, including 9 cinemas in Paris, the French capital. At the “Kinoshock” recent film festival in Russia, the film received awards in the “Best Director” categories (Adilkhan Yerzhanov) and “Best Actor” (Daniyar Alshinov).
At the moment, “A Dark, Dark Man” film is available for viewing at the leading Kazakhstani and Russian online cinemas.
