A CAPSULE OF THE II STAGE OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE TOWN OF KAZNU IS PLACED
As part of the Week of Science, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a “Science and Business” scientific and innovative exhibition : “Ways of Innovative Development of Kazakhstan.” The leaders of large companies and business representatives were presented projects ready for commercialization, developed by scientists from Kazakhstani universities and research institutes.
The main goal of the exhibition is to strengthen the links between science-education-production, the development of science through business.
The event was attended by: Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Chairman of the Board – Rector of the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuymebaev, Deputy Mayor of Almaty Alisher Abdykadyrov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Maksat Kikimov and other famous people.
The exhibition was followed by a plenary session dedicated to the issues of successful partnership between science and business. Also, within the framework of the meeting, a round table was organized on the topic “Integration of science and business in modern conditions.”
The minister also took part in the ceremony of laying a commemorative capsule in honor of the start of the II stage of construction of the KazNU campus.
“If you make an excursion into the history of KazNU, then for the first time an educational institution was built on the model of an academic campus. After 1974-75, the university did not receive much investment. Therefore, today’s event is of great importance. The construction plan was supported by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich. We can say that the university has a second wind,” said Sayasat Nurbek.
According to the plan, the campus has educational buildings for 14,700 places, administrative buildings for 12,000 square meters, a polyclinic with an area of 35,000 square meters, a sports and fitness center with an area of 3,000 square meters, housing for employees, an innovation center, a research center, a technology park , as well as hostels for 12 thousand beds with an area of 3 hectares for students, masters and doctoral students.
