“We have gathered you here so that everyone’s thoughts and ideas can be heard. Everything that was discussed at today’s event will be included in our ministry’s specific plan for 2024. The key task set before the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan is doubling the economy. And in order to double the volume of the national economy by 2029, it is necessary to focus on science and innovation. Work in this direction has already begun and will continue intensified. A small number of countries have been able to overcome the “middle income trap” by putting science, innovation and education at the forefront. Therefore, we have a huge responsibility to discuss all emerging issues, set realistic goals and achieve them through joint efforts,” noted S. Nurbek.
After the minister’s speech, the round table participants presented their work in groups, exchanged opinions and experiences, and also discussed improving the system of scientific institutes, university science and interaction between business and research institutes and universities.
