In July of this year, about 1 million Kazakhstanis received payments for food and household sets totaling 5.4 billion tenge. This type of social support is planned to cover 1.1 million people.
As previously reported, on behalf of the Head of State, during the period of the state of emergency and quarantine measures to combat coronavirus infection, in order to provide social support to citizens, the list of recipients of food and household kits was expanded. To minimize citizen contact and prevent the spread of COVID-19, the kits have been replaced with equivalent cash payments.
Beneficiaries of payments are citizens belonging to 5 social groups:
– children aged 6 to 18 years old, from among the recipients of targeted social assistance;
– disabled children up to 16 years old, with the exception of disabled people permanently residing in medical and social institutions;
– disabled people of I, II, III groups of all ages, with the exception of disabled people permanently residing in medical and social institutions;
– persons raising a disabled child;
– unemployed citizens registered with the local employment agency.
Lists of recipients of this type of assistance are formed by local executive bodies.
