255 thousand jobs are planned to be created as part of the DKZ
Within the framework of the Employment Roadmap (hereinafter – DKZ), approved by the order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 27, 2020, is planned to create 255 thousand new jobs in Kazakhstan, which will be distributed across 6.5 thousand infrastructure projects, the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

The largest number of jobs will be created in Almaty – 26 thousand, Turkestan region – 21.9 thousand, Almaty region – 21 thousand.
It is expected that at least half of the workers will be hired through employment centers. The priority category will be unemployed youth.
The implementation of infrastructure projects of the DKZ will take place in 4 main areas:
– capital and current repairs, reconstruction and construction of socio-cultural facilities (objects of education, health care, social welfare, culture, sports, leisure, recreation, etc.);
– capital, medium and current repairs, reconstruction of housing and communal services (water supply, sewage, gas, heat, electricity);
– capital, medium and current repairs, reconstruction, construction of engineering and transport infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, dams, dams and bridges, canals, water facilities, and structures);
– improvement of settlements (improvement of yards, lighting, and greening of streets, parks, squares, demolition of orphaned objects, etc.).
In total, 1 trillion tenge of budget funds were allocated for the implementation of the DKZ directions, of which 37% (373 billion tenge) will be allocated for construction work, 19% (182 billion tenge) – for overhaul, 31% (308 billion tenge) – for current and secondary repairs, 16% (127 billion tenge) – for the reconstruction of facilities and structures.
Capital, medium and current repairs, reconstruction will be carried out on objects that are in republican or communal ownership. Selection of infrastructure projects and implementation of work will be carried out by local executive bodies, based on the reported funding limits and the availability of relevant documentation for the work.
The largest number of projects is planned to be implemented in Almaty region (977), East Kazakhstan region (813), Zhambyl (690) and Karaganda (625) regions.
After the completion of the projects, it is planned to create 15.2 thousand permanent jobs. Most of them will be created in Almaty – 2,045, Almaty Oblast – 1,830 and Turkestan Oblast – 1,531.
